4.5 stars Loved Rachel [even though she pissed me off a few times] and Logan is a master at the swoons. If these two don't get to have some serious kissing time in book 3, I could cry. I did struggle a bit in the middle, the journey got a little monotonous for me and I did end up skimming a few pages here and there. All in all, this is a great follow up to Defiance. And seriously, the titles are just perfection for the story within... I can't wait for book 3.
3.5 starsI absolutely loved Penny. She was feisty and passionate and knows without a doubt what she wants. She can hold her own against the boys and it was refreshing to have a MC with those attributes.Bishop is cocky and delightful. He holds his own against Penny and I loved that he enjoyed pushing her buttons so much. Overall, the story was a bit predictable, but it was an enjoyable one. **Thanks to NetGalley for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**
3.5 stars I struggled a bit in the beginning because I didn't reread Silver again, but even still, Brianna was talking about some things I didn't remember. The recap [of sorts] comes through soon enough and even though it's delivery is broken up, it is quite a twist of events. Austin. Man, can be bring the swoons. I'd give the book 5 stars just based on him. There were so many lines I wanted to quote, but would have been pretty much everything he said. I definitely enjoyed this more than the first one. I really liked the playfulness of some of the characters and the few twists surprised me. I'm only rounding down on my rating because I absolutely HATED the ending. If there's going to be a third book, it *might* be acceptable, but going into this series, I was under the impression that it was a duology. If that's the case and this is the ending for real for real, I'm pissed. If there'll be another book, then I'm only mildly upset. :D**Thanks to NetGalley for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**
The premise sounded interesting, but I didn't care for any of the characters. There were too many POV changes in the small amount that I read and everything seemed rushed.**Thanks to NetGalley for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**
2.5 stars I loved the premise of it, but parts of it seemed to drag on and on. There were several consistent POVs, plus some random character POVs thrown in here and there. When we finally got to the [underwhelming] big reveal [300+ pages in], I found that I didn't care what it was.I did really liked the tension, but the build up was a sloooooow. Maybe I just didn't have the patience for it.
One hell of a ride that kept me guessing from the very beginning. Every time I thought I had it figured out, something would change. Great plot, great characters, I can't wait to see if there will be more.**Thanks to NetGalley for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**
I always the enjoy the "Sliding Doors" take on a book and this one didn't disappoint. Of course, I did like one path more than the other, but both sides of the choice were interesting to read. Caroline was annoying at times, but she acted like a regular teen dealing with grief. I really enjoyed reading her growth as she figured out what the right way was for her. The highlight of the entire book was Chris. I loved the Chris on each path and the banter he has with Sweet Caroline is phenomenal. And the ending scene with them is damn near perfection.**Thanks to Edelweiss for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**
I loved this story. Yes, there were some stupid boy moments and stupid girl moments, but I adored Grayson and Wren and their story of being together. Wren's best friends provided a lot of laughs and were really awesome friends, not the back stabby bitches we see a lot of times. Grayson's friends on the other hand...they provide a lot of the problems. The moments between Wren and Grayson were near perfection and I couldn't get enough of them. It was also kind of nice to see a seemingly functional "normal" family who got along with and supported each other. This will be a book I read often and I can't wait for a physical copy.
Wow. Wow. Wow. I almost wish I hadn't read it early because the wait for the next book will be torturous.Fantastic story line, phenomenal characters, everything about it was amazing.
This was perfection. A little more angsty than Edenbrooke, but full of swoons. There were times that I wanted to jump into the book and slap the hell out of Kate, but the ending was phenomenal. I will forever read Julieanne's books.
4.5 stars. The first thing that I noticed right off the bat is that this is not a continuation of Lenzi & Alden's story. Yes, they are in the story, but as secondary characters. If you're going into Fragile Spirits looking for all Lenzi & Alden all the time, you won't find it. Fragile Spirits tells the story of two people who are fairly new to the Intercessor Council as they try to find their way around their new roles in a working relationship together. And it's a fantastic ride. MCsPaul is a straight-laced, by-the-book kind of guy. He's been around the IC for a while and it shows. I loved the loyalty that just shined out of Paul in all of his actions. His quiet watchfulness starts to fall away and the growth of his character was enjoyable to read. As the book progresses, we get to see quite a few sides to Paul, yet his overall goal to be a Protector remains intact.Vivienne is Paul's exact opposite. She's outspoken, brash, a little volatile, insanely smart, and has awesome hot pink hair. I instantly fell in love with her sass, snark and banter with nearly every character in the book. Vivienne is used to being on her own, so when she starts to trust the group she works with, it electrifies her. She is sort of forced into her role as a Speaker, but it becomes clear that she's really good at it [in a sort of unconventional way]. And the swoons? They come from Vivienne:"I wonder what your lips feel like" or "Can I ride with you? .... I'd rather be with you than anyone."Secondary characters:Race: He is snarky and provides a bit of comic relief when it's really needed. He is fiercely dedicated to the IC and his family of Speakers and Protectors. Race is a lot of fun, but I feel like we haven't even scratched the surface of his character. I would have loved to see more of him. Lenzi & Alden: It was awesome to see them again, even as secondary characters. They have some great scenes [and one that is just so heartbreaking], as well as provide a great Speaker/Protector relationship for Paul to observe. Their presence was just enough to remind me that I needed to reread Shattered Souls ASAP. Plot & Pacing:For me, Fragile Spirits, was very character driven. While story plot line was pretty straight forward [and is revealed pretty early in the story], we only get snippets of the characters. Mary reveals important back story for both Paul and Vivienne in increments. Not one to wait patiently, I would normally be losing my mind over getting tidbits. However, this works perfectly. It kept the story moving right along and kept me furiously turning the pages. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Huge thanks to Mary for offering the arc in exchange for an honest review!!

3.5 starsDefinitely the strongest of the series. The scenes of angsty times and the series of disagreements between Savannah and Tristan did get a bit monotonous. I would have liked to see more of the sweet times between the two of them, but it just didn't seem to happen. Or at least, not as many as I wanted. Overall it was a good story line and a satisfying ending to the series.**Thanks to NetGalley for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**
2.5 starsI struggled with this book. It was a lot of repetition and a lot of angsty teenage feelings. I wanted to jump into the book and slap the hell out of Savannah and Tristan both. With all of the magic and ESP they share, why couldn't either of them be bothered to talk to the other for 30 seconds? It would have moved the story faster and gotten rid of the 100 or so pages that need to be taken out. The ending was pretty awesome, however. I'm eager to see what happens next.
