This came highly recommended and just sat on my TBR list for a while. I wish someone would have been a little more forceful about it because I absolutely loved it. Marianne is a great MC. She's smart and witty, hates doing the things "proper" ladies do and for all of those reasons, she is delightful. Philip is flirty and fun and enjoys Marianne's company without looking down on her for her behavior. Their banter is some of the best I've read and the love letter? Gah. Reminded me of P+P due to the surroundings and time period, but the banter, flirting and swoons reminded me of Anna. To compare Edenbrooke to either of these books [let alone both] seems a bit lofty, but it was phenomenal and so much fun to read. I am sure I'll be reading it over and over again.
